About Us:

The members of the Hickory Flat Volunteer Fire Department proudly serve an area of approximately 100 square miles with a population of over 9000 residents. Our 49 members, (40 volunteer, 9 paid 24/48) meet every Monday night and utilize three stations strategicaly located in our community. We are located northwest of Atlanta Georgia in Cherokee county, between Canton and Roswell.

We currently have 4 pumper/tankers and a mobile air unit. We have an aggressive training staff that trains our members in fire suppression, EMS, extrication, rope, and heavy rescue techniques. We work in conjunction with the Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Management Agency to provide the highest level of "Community Oriented Fire Protection" possible.

Our Missions is to:

• Protect our community from loss of life or property
• Minimize suffering and damage due to fire, environmental emergencies, natural disasters and other catastrophes through prevention, education, and suppression
• Service to our community

Community Service:

The members of the Hickory Flat Volunteer Fire Department are also members of the community. As such, they have an interest in promoting certain causes.

• The Hickory Flat Junior Member Program for community members under 18
• CPR Training provided on request
• Station 3 and Station 3.2 are drop-off points for newspapers and other paper products which are recycled and the proceeds go to support the Fire Dept.
• Hickory Flat's Community Fire Prevention Education Program is run by the firefighters that volunteer to visit a school or pre-school on their own time to give a talk on Fire prevention and safety to the students at school.
• The Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts can call on the fire department for a visit or for a tour of a fire station.
